According to EN 50288-7 standard, 2X means XLPE insulation, (st) stands for collective screen and Y means PVC Flame Retardant jacket instrumentation cable.
Applications
XLPE insulated unarmoured cables are typically used for indoor installations in wet and humid areas. Typically used for communications in industrial process manufacturing plants,
data and voice transmission signals and services.
Standards
Design based on standard BS EN 50288-7 (old standard BS 5308).
Fire performance
Flame retardancy (single vertical wire or cable test) BS EN 60332-1-2
Rated Voltage
300V, 500V
Cable construction
Conductor: Plain or metal-coated copper wire, solid, stranded or flexible, conforming to IEC 60228 Classes 1, 2 and 5.
Insulation: Extruded XLPE compound according to EN 50290-2-29. PVC, PE, PP compounds are available as options.
General shielding : Aluminium/polyester tape on laid core, metal side down, in contact with tinned copper drain wire, 0.5 mm². Available with copper braid shielding or
Aluminium/polyester tape in combination with braided copper shielding.
Sheath: Thermoplastic PVC compound according to EN 50290-2-22.
Sheath options: UV resistant, hydrocarbon resistant, oil resistant, rodent resistant and termite resistant as options. Fire Resistance Compliance
Compliance with fire performance standards (IEC 60332-1, IEC 60332-3, UL 1581, UL 1666, etc.) depends on the oxygen index of the PVC compound and the overall cable design.
LSPVC is also available on request.
Colour coding
Insulation colour : colour and/or additional ring markings and/or symbols obtained through the use of coloured insulation or through extruded, printed or painted coloured surfaces.
Sheath : Black, other colours available on request.
Physical and thermal properties
Temperature range during operation : -30°C - +90°C
Temperature range during fixing : -5°C - +50°C
Maximum short circuit temperature (5 seconds): 250°C
Minimum bending radius : 7.5 x OD
Application:
Fixed installation for power, control and lighting in safe areas, emergency and critical onshore or offshore applications
where requirement for mechanical stress.
